Our very first ‘Helping Hands Healing Paws’ outreach in downtown Atlanta was a huge success!
We connected with over 50 folks in need, distributed 40 bed rolls, 50 blankets, 20 pairs of socks and hand sanitizer.
The purpose of our mission was always to help anyone in need, from homeless pets and their owners, to anyone who needed what we have. No judgement, no stipulations, just gifts from the heart.
Because this was a last minute addition to our outreach calendar, there was not time to get the word out to pet owners. However, we did get asked if we would help at a local homeless encampment with 25 dogs needing food and so we are working on a trip down there shortly. We are excited to help with this.
By showing up we connected on a one to one with folks who told us what they need and now that means we can help in even more meaningful ways.
Pastors Chad and Tracey at Mercy have created a safe space for homeless folks to get warm and get a meal, we are so honored to partner with them.
Our huge thanks to Stephen Walters, Jennifer Calderhead, Pat Matthews and Kathie White for making the time to put the needs of others first. It was, and is, a beautiful thing.
