I’m very lucky in that I work for myself, so I can set my own rules, hours and routine. I also don’t adhere to some of the bullshit ‘rules’ that society today has set in place.
One of the rules that we have here is that we don’t say ‘Happy holidays’.
We say ‘Merry Christmas’.
I don’t give a shit who I offend, what person has an issue with it, which ethnic minority doesn’t want to hear those words, or any of that crap.
Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus. Yes, I know Jesus was more than likely born in September so we kind of celebrate it on the wrong day, but I think He was a very decent sort of chap and fully deserves a second, ‘official,’ birthday’.
I actually think it’s the very least we could do.....
I don’t do Christmas cards, because of the trees that have to die for me to send them.
However, I do want to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a very Happy New year...... I hope that you spend it with people or animals that you love.
While my own home will be bereft of some family members, one because he lives too far away and the others because they have passed on, I will still be rejoicing in the love of my family, my friends and those that surround me who give their time selfishly to others.
I am one very lucky lady and I absolutely know it.
This isn’t a sermon, I think we all know I’d get burned to death if I tried to set foot in a pulpit, but it is a request that you stop to think about what Christmas means and what’s important to you, quite above and beyond anything Amazon might deliver.
Practice love.
Give love.
See with love.
Receive love.
Just like the Big Guy himself....or as close as you can get to it.
If you do, you’ll find 2020 will be far richer and happier than anything you could have ever dreamed; you’ll have way more friends, be way better looking (good people are always prettier!) and sleep really good at night.
That’s all I wanted to say.
Now go have yourselves a merry little Christmas. xxxx
